A.K.A. Stéphane Casier
Stephane is a freelance illustrator, clothing and graphic designer as well as the brains behind the Parisian based creative studio, ‘Yeaaah Studio’.
I can’t remember how I found Stephane’s work to begin with if I must be honest – I just remember that I loved his style, everything he was doing when I did and I’ve been a huge fan since.
10 Questions with Stéphane
1. FAVOURITE PLACE THAT YOU'VE TRAVELLED?
Japan! I recently went there for the second time and it was awesome, all the cherry trees were blooming. This was the perfect place to propose to my girlfriend and she said yes, fortunately, haha.
2. FEAR OF?
3. WHAT IS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?
Living a life that I won’t be ashamed of. The rest is bonus.
4. DOGS OR CATS?
Big dogs! My family had a beautiful Beauceron when I was a kid and she was everything to me, really.
If one day we move out of Paris and get a house with a big garden, getting this kind of dog will be the first thing I’ll do.
5. IF YOU COULD LEARN ANYTHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I’d love to be able to speak every language in the world fluently.
6. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED?
I watched a rerun of "X-Men : The Last Stand" on TV last night, haha. I LOVE super-hero movies.
7. WHAT IS THE SCARIEST AND/OR HARDEST THING YOU'VE DONE?
I really don’t like having people watching me when I draw and I’m absolutely not comfortable with big format drawings so I’d say that live-painting a mural was the scariest thing I’ve done. But it’s good to go out your comfort zone once in awhile.
8. SOMEONE YOU'D LIKE TO MEET?
Akira Toriyama, the manga artist who created Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball. He was my major influence as a teenager.
9. FAVOURITE QUOTE?
"Do what you love and love what you do." It’s very cliché but I’m lucky enough to make a living off my art and that’s all I’ve ever wanted.
10. WHAT GOT YOU INTO DESIGN / ILLUSTRATION?
I literally spent my childhood watching Japanese anime on TV and trying to draw my favourite characters so it was pretty obvious that my job would involve paper sheets and pens.
